Michael has all of the sudden grown into a kid. He is no longer a toddler which makes me really sad. I feel like he's growing up before I can keep up. Every day there are things that he does or says that I hope I can remember forever. Here's a record of some of those things:
Michael & Eloise -- April 22, 2012
*Michael pronounces ceiling "ceiweling" and loves when Steve gets him dressed on the bed because he'll pull him up into the air and Michael always says "Let's bonk my head on the ceiweling."

Spiderman jammies
*One day Michael came in crying rubbing his head and when I asked him what happened he said "I just bumped my noggin'."

Chewing gum with dad
*Michael is obsessed with the show Backyardigans. His favorite episode is Robot Rosco. He can quote almost every episode and always wants to play parts and act them out. He's so creative and loves to sing all the songs and point out all the funny things. Backyardigans has now become my favorite kid show. I think it's so creative and I LOVE the songs and choreography. They make those little animated animals do the fanciest of footwork. It's darling!
*Michael gave the scripture in Primary for the 1st time. We practiced with him and he was so excited to stand up at the podium and talk into the microphone like the big kids. He did so good. He shared John 13:34. He stood up there and so clearly repeated word for word each part of the scripture. I was so proud of my big sunbeam!
(We won't focus on the fact that just ten minutes later he was sobbing out in the hall. Primary is still a hit and miss some Sundays.)
First orange creamsicles of the season
*Michael is terrified of bees although I'm not even sure if he has ever seen a bee in real life. But... he loves digging for ants in the backyard. What a boy!

He wanted to see what he looked like when he made this face
*He loves watching The Incredibles, Ice Age, and The Little Rascals. He can quote each show in its entirety. I think it's hilarious that he picks up on it all. He's pointed out things that I've never recognized.

Decided he'd rather get in bed than clean his room and fell asleep.
*Michael loves Reeses cereal (and I keep buying it even though I think it smells like dog food) and he loves sips of Coke. Green beans are the only vegetable he'll ask for and he's still a huge fan of mac & cheese, chicken nuggets, grilled ham & cheese sandwiches, lasagna, chicken & rice, and noodles with sauce. I've also just introduced him to root beer floats and he says "This is my favorite treat ever!"
While I put the laundry away, Michael showered his sis with toys
*He always wants to play a game on our phones. His favorites are tank hero and skateboard boy. He's really good at them. It amazes me how much he can do at a young age. He also loves playing the Wii and watching Netflix. He can get games or shows set up all by himself.

Holding his sis in the morning
*Michael is so super excited for his birthday. He wants to have a super hero party and talks about it all the time.
*The other day I bought Michael a Batman shirt. He was thrilled! The next day he was telling Steve how mommy had bought him the cool new Batman shirt he was wearing and said, "I am just so proud of your wife!" Thanks, son :)

His real-life pirate costume. He wanted me to make him a peg leg. Hmmm...
*Michael says "I'm okay with that" even when you're not asking for approval. He also says "of course" and "sure I will" in response to any favor I ask. He'll say "it sure does" and "absolutely" and he uses the word "suddenly" a lot too when he tells stories. I think it's adorable to hear him speak to us so grown up.

Shooting bows with dad
*One day Michael was shooting his bow out back and then decided to ride his tractor to go pick up his arrows in the field. Then he came into the kitchen and said "Okay mom, here's the plan. You be Heavenly Father and I will be Nephi. And I will ask you what I should do and you tell me that I need to drive my tractor to go pick up my arrows." Smiling I said, "Okay.... Hi Nephi."
"Hi Heavenly Father. What should I go do?"
"Well you should probably go drive your tractor to pick up your arrows in the field."
"Okay, I sure will!" and as he turns to head for the door,
he starts marching and pumping his fist into the air singing,
"I will GO. I will DO!"
My heart was full of joy. Although it's not the best scenario to play pretend and assign roles of Heavenly Father or Jesus, I'm so grateful that he is learning what we're teaching so much that he can create his own role playing. I sure love his creativity and innocence.
*When Michael's hands or feet fall asleep and they start tingling he says he has "sparkles" in them. So cute!

Fell asleep early after a long day of playing hard.
*At one point Michael asked me if our baby was going to live with us forever. After explaining that yes she'll live with us forever just how daddy and mommy and Michael live at our house, the baby will always live with us because we get to keep her forever. He then said, "But when are we going to sell her?" Trying not to crack up, I told him we wouldn't ever sell our baby because we love her and we want to have her with us forever. I asked him why he thought we would sell her and he said "Because when she gets old we need to sell her."
I guess he's learned too much about yard sales and selling our stuff when it's old or we don't need it anymore. We had a good conversation after that about how we don't ever sell people.
