Updates?

I haven't updated for two reasons. One, life is so busy right now and I can't hardly find time for anything. Two, is because I haven't uploaded any new pictures. I felt like it would be boring to blog without pictures. But here I am, blogging and still no pictures. Anyway I'll try to remember anything that might interest you.... or maybe I'll just ramble about things I recall.

1. Michael is now getting his 6th tooth in. He might look a little snaggle-toothed to you but I think it's darling. He has his bottom two, the top two sides next to the middle two, the top middle right, and now the top middle left is coming in. It's pretty funny to watch him laugh. He's like a hillbilly baby. So cute!! Speaking of laughing... lately he's started laughing so much more. Everything makes him laugh even if he's sitting in the room by himself. I just wonder what he's thinking about that is just so darn funny to him. He's started sucking in his sound though. He'll laugh and then breathe in while he's still making noise like he's ran out of breath. Something I can't really explain. Like sing a note and when you run out of breath still sing that note but suck in. That's what Michael does. He's such a character!

2. Michael is way close to crawling normally. He'll push himself up into perfect crawling form and rock back and forth on his knees but he won't go anywhere. Instead, he does this army-like maneuver and uses his elbows. He can move pretty quickly across the room. The other day he crawled up to Steve's guitar on the stand and tried to get it down so I went over and strummed it. He thought by patting it with his little hand, he was making the sound so he kept patting it and singing along. He sings along with any music he hears. It's hilarious.

3. My two good friends had their babies a few weeks ago. A darling boy (Carson) and a beautiful little girl (Madison). Congrats Mal and Kellie!! I can't wait to hold your babies!

4. We were able to go to the Draper Temple Open House on President's day. It was a fun family gathering. Thanks for getting us tickets Mom and Dad... oh and for taking us out to eat! We love Applebees!

5. Oh one more thing about Michael. He's learned to give kisses. It's the sweetest thing. We say, "give mommy (daddy) kisses" and make kissy lips and he leans in with his mouth open. He knows we just adore it because sometimes he makes a game out of it.

6. January was sick month for us. I was sick for a really long time. Michael was a tiny bit sick and Steve was sick for a few days. We've been fine the last week and a half but two days ago Steve and I both got sore throats and we now have sinus infections. Michael has been sick too. Hopefully we all kick this soon because we're sick of being sick. :)

7. Steve and I celebrated a short and sweet Valentines. It wasn't anything spectacular but perfect all the same. I spent the day grocery and car seat shopping with Michael while Steve studied and took a Chemistry and a Calculus test. Poor guy. But then he brought home my favorite take out and a movie and surprised me with a few gifts. Thanks howney! Luckily Michael went to bed early so we actually got to relax and watch the movie instead of entertain Michael. I truly love my hubby more than I ever thought I'd love anyone. I'm the luckiest!!

8. My job is going back and forth because of the economy. My school alone is having to let go of 12 teachers! I'm at least guaranteed a teaching position next year which is more than a lot of first-year teachers can say but as for the school it's up in the air. I think I know how it will turn out and I'm happy about it but we'll see.... I'll update as soon as things are official.

9. I had parent teacher conference yesterday and I really just have to say how pointless it is. It was a waste of 5 extra hours of my day. I had to be at school for over 13 hours yesterday... not fun. But I have the best husband--when I got home Michael was sound asleep in bed, my dinner was fixed, the dishes were done, the house was clean, and he said "Just go relax on the couch and I'll bring your dinner into you." He's such a sweetheart. I love coming home to him.

10. Oh I lied... one more thing I remembered about Michael... (I'm a proud mom what can I say?) He's learned how to really show us when he's mad. He doesn't cry because he's such a good baby but instead he'll make these grunts or these yelps. It's like a really quick, short yell. Like a little outburst? Again, it's something I can't explain; it's just so funny. He does it in his carseat sometimes and Steve and I just crack up and listen to him express his frustrations. :)

11. I just started teaching Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet to my students. It's very entertaining to teach a classic love story to teens. I started the unit with a journal question: "Do you believe in love at first sight? How serious or long-lasting is this kind of love? Has it ever happened to you?" Their responses were hilarious. I had a hard time keeping a straight face as many of them shared their thoughts on true love. So many of my students think they have the whole love thing figured out and they believe that these little relationships they're in (going out with someone) are going to last forever. It's funny.

12. As I was driving to school this morning, some old man rear-ended me. He was 81 years old and after talking with the cops, I think he's a frequent flyer with Orem police because the cop acted like he knew who I was talking about, showed me a picture of him, and he said, "Yeah we know where to find this guy." The old man was so rude to me. It really upset me. My car is fine but my neck is a little sore. I hope it goes away cause I didn't tell the cops about my sore neck. The guy wasn't even wearing a seat belt and he wouldn't get out of his car. He was mad when I told him I was going to call because he said "I'm not talking to anyone!" But justice will be served :) because they're citing him with leaving the scene of an accident and they're calling him in to re-test at the DMV. Sorry old man--you made the wrong girl late for work today!!

13. Steve's birthday is on Sunday!! He'll turn 25 this year. Can you believe it? He's practically an old man. Just kidding... I love him dearly and am excited to celebrate this weekend. Steve is the best thing that's ever happened to me. I know a lot of people say that but I know it's true for me. He is so patient and loving to me and our little boy. He always brightens my day and makes me laugh. He just might be the funniest person I know. He makes everything okay and makes me want to be a better person. He makes me feel so loved and beautiful and he takes such good care of me. He's a great daddy to Michael and loves him so much. I love listening to him as he talks to Michael. It melts my heart. I love that I get to love him for eternity. Happy Birthday baby!!

Love it Ems I don't need pics to read a post. It's fun to read your updates even without them. So you didn't tell me they were gonna cite the old geezer. Pretty sure I'm loving that since he was such a jerk to you. Anyway I can't wait for summer when your not so busy and we can play!!! yay :)
